European Running Glory For James Doran

The ultra fit James Doran has won the European Masters Half Marathon age category M35 and came in third overall in Madeira, Portugal last week.

James, who is a member of An Riocht Athletic Club has achieved extraordinary success.

Everyone in the Parish is delighted with your impressive win, James.

GAA Updates: Championship Season is Upon Us

Wishing the Kerry team the very best of luck as they take to the field this weekend against Cork.

This is the first game of the 2020 Championship for Kerry.  Under the modified set up for this year’s Championship, it’s a knock-out competition.  So there’s no margin for error for our green and gold League champions.  Keep your eye on the prize!

Parish Connection to Limerick League Winners

Congratulations to Limerick footballers who were crowned Division 4 league champions in October.

A special note of congratulations to Pádraig Scanlon of Glin who has been part of this team during its league campaign.

Pádraig is the son of Mary Scanlon nee Geaney – a long time teacher in Brosna NS and one of the co-authors of our award winning publication, The Story of Brosna GAA.

It seems that winning is a family trait.  We are delighted for Padraig and his family – a proud connection for our parish.

Condolences to the Quill Family

We send our sincere sympathy to the family of the late Dan Quill of Cahersiveen.

We all fondly remember Dan the Guard who was stationed in Brosna many decades ago.

A very genuine and well-liked individual. Gone too soon. Rest in Peace.
