Pupils and teachers at Muire gan Smál Primary School in Castleisland are working together towards this year’s Amber Flag status.

The Amber Flag Award recognises schools that create inclusive, healthy environments that support mental well-being.

Amber Flag Committee

Muire gan Smál is working towards this and an Amber Flag Committee made up of staff and students is already in place.

“This Friday, March 26th., we will be having a pyjamas / cosy clothes day for our Amber Flag fundraiser,” said Principal Seamus Moynihan.

Donations to Pieta House

“Pupils and staff will be asked to bring a €2 donation which will go directly to Pieta House.

“Our teacher, Lisa O’Connor, is the co-ordinator of the Amber Flag Committee and she has the full support of the school and the enthusiasm of the pupils behind her in the committee’s bid to raise the Amber Flag over our school this year,” said Mr. Moynihan.
