The Carnegie Co-working Centre was established in 2017 as a joint initiative between Kerry County Council and Castleisland Chamber Alliance.

The project involved refurbishing a disused building for use as a co-working space whereby the profits generated are used for other non-profit  projects in Castleisland town.

Funding for the refurbishment of the building was sourced by Castleisland Chamber Alliance from the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Home Working for Staff

During the Covid19 pandemic the government encouraged employers to facilitate home working for office staff where possible.

Now that restrictions are being lifted some employers have chosen to offer remote working long term to their employees.

In practice there are some issues with home working – such as poor broadband, the inability to switch off and separate work life from home life. Co-working hubs offer a positive solution to those problems.

Ideally Situated

In Castleisland the Carnegie Co-working Centre is ideally situated to service the requirement of remote working for those living in Kerry, West Limerick and North Cork.

Desk rental is from as little as €10 per day.

Cost includes all services electricity, broadband, desk, chair and secure locker this facility is suitable for anyone requiring a separate office or dedicated deck space, short or long term.

Its town location, high speed broadband, 24 hour access, canteen facilities, meeting room with audio video equipment and free on street parking all make it an attractive alternative to working from home.

Dedicated Desk or Separate Office

It’s located a few minutes walk from the picturesque and tranquil river walk and An Ríocht athletic track and  fitness centre.

The Carnegie Co-working Centre is also proving an attractive option for visitors to the county due to the fact Castleisland is the nearest town, just eight kilometers to Kerry Airport.
