Over €270,000 to Enhance 11 Kerry Outdoor Recreation Projects

Minister for Education and Kerry T.D, Norma Foley, has welcomed today’s allocation of €274,476 in funding to develop and enhance 11 outdoor recreation projects in Kerry.

The investment, under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS), will be key to enhancing mountain trails, forest walks, cycleways, rivers, lakes and beaches across the county.

It will also provide a boost to the local economy by attracting more visitors to our rural communities.

Benefits to Health and Well-being

Minister Foley said that the facilities and amenities that the Government are providing funding for under this scheme are making a real difference in communities right across Kerry.

“Today’s announcement will hugely benefit the health and well-being of people of all ages and is so important in terms of attracting visitors to our towns and villages.

These amenities are here for us all to enjoy,” Minister Foley said.
