Castleisland native, Tralee resident, Tommy Sheehy has just completed another of his annual and grueling cycling trips to France. Tommy, a son of Kitty and Ned Sheehy, has been undertaking these Enable Ireland fundraising trips for the best part of the past decade and has raised an average of €11,000 per trip for the charity.… Read more…

Cycling Ireland ‘Coach of the Year’ award winner, Paddy Doran visited Castleisland over the weekend to provide a workshop to the members of newly formed Kerry Youth Cycling Initiative. There is just the merest little hint of irony lurking between the common sense philosophy and the logo of a newly formed, local cycling group. The 50th race for the Johnny Drumm Memorial Cup takes place on this Sunday, April 26th in Currow. Johnny Drumm was from Tobermaing and he was a champion racing cyclist both on the road and grass track. He was also a champion ploughman and had won the All Ireland ploughing championship in Kilkenny in 1964.… Read more…
